Description: Nobody Knows is a painting inspired from a photograph capturing the 1960s Detroit Black Artists group called “Contemporary Studio”, who made a major impact in creating a sustainable support infrastructure for the Black art community to thrive over lack and political adversity in White America. This group represented Black Sophistication, yet with an underlying incentive to be appreciated and recognized in the art industry, so I focused to express dynamically, the blurred relationships between their identity, pride, and belonging.
